Harrison FCU is now part of Air Academy Credit Union
On Monday, June 26 the members of Harrison Federal Credit Union (HFCU) voted on the decision to merge with Air Academy Credit Union (AACU). The vote was approved by a majority vote and as of July 1, 2023, Harrison Federal Credit Union will become Air Academy Credit Union.
What does this mean for Harrison Credit Union Members?
Now that the merger is approved, AACU will begin the process of bringing HFCU’s data onto their core operating system. This process will take some time to complete and, as members of HFCU, you will soon receive detailed information about what you can expect through this conversion process.
Will there be a change to how my funds are insured?
No, there will be no change to how your funds are insured. Both HFCU and AACU member deposits are federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund that is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
Where can I go to conduct business on my HFCU accounts?
Until the data conversion process is complete, your HFCU accounts will continue to be serviced by your team at the Harrison (now AACU) branch located at 1060 Harrison Rd, Colorado Springs, CO.
This will be the only AACU branch location that can service your existing HFCU accounts. Please continue to use this branch for in-person transactions and assistance with your HFCU accounts, or call the branch at 719-527-1358.
Can I open new accounts at AACU before the HFCU data conversion?
Yes, you can begin opening accounts at AACU by visiting any of AACU’s 8 branch locations, online at aacu.com, or by calling 800-223-1983.
What is the closest AACU branch location to the Harrison branch location?
AACU’s Cheyenne Mountain branch is approximately 1 mile from the Harrison branch. The Cheyenne Mountain branch is in the Broadmoor Towne Center shopping center complex at 1910 Southgate Rd, Colorado Springs, CO.
Can AACU members who do not have HFCU accounts use the Harrison branch location?
No. Until the data conversion is complete, only HFCU accounts can be serviced at the Harrison location. Members who need service on an AACU account should visit the Cheyenne Mountain branch (or any of the other 7 AACU branch locations).
